Ricky Nelson’s remarkable desire to help others is prevalent in how he serves as a firefighter during the day before teaching his students in the evening. He has been active in Jiu-Jitsu for over a decade. Competing in over one hundred tournaments internationally and placing in tournaments such as World Masters Championships. Jiu-Jitsu changed Ricky by helping him through both the toughest and the best days of his life. He strives to share the joy, peace, and strength Jiu-Jitsu brings to your body and mind so his students can achieve greatness. Beyond that, Ricky wants to demonstrate that Martial Arts is more than just competition. It also encourages growth as an individual and as a team. These bonds last a lifetime.
Juliana Veloso is an instructor at Nelson Jiu-Jitsu who comes from a competitive background. Juliana was an Olympic level diver that has represented Brazil in five Summer Olympics. Her athletic endeavors ultimately led her to Jiu-Jitsu and she was immediately hooked. Her desire to never stop learning was boundless. Juliana chose to become an instructor because of her passion for teaching and her enthusiasm towards the success of her students. The pair dedicates themselves to providing others with the life Jiu-Jitsu has given them all while making friends along the way.
